Five years ago, Pop Culture Artisan Pops started as a dream in a small Kaneohe kitchen — to reimagine the humble ice pop with unique flavors, locally sourced ingredients, and a whole lot of aloha. What began as an idea from our founder, Justin Udom, has grown into a movement: pops that honor Hawai‘i’s farms, connect communities, and bring a little joy with every bite.
This September, we’re turning 5 — and we couldn’t let the milestone pass without something truly ono to celebrate. That’s why we’re dropping a limited-edition collab pop inspired by the flavor experiment of our long time friend and local foodie.
Meet the Japanese Neapolitan, a three-layered pop that brings together some of our all-time favorite Japanese flavors in one epic bite:
Matcha (top): Our ceremonial-grade Japanese matcha blended into a silky honey cream base. Rich, earthy, and a Pop Culture classic. 🌱🍯
Strawberry Azuki (middle): Sweet local strawberries and nutty azuki beans come together for a creamy, nostalgic twist. 🍓✨ (Mahalo @fiveftfoodie for the azuki inspo!)
Hōjicha (bottom): The roasty, toasty twin to matcha, this organic roasted green tea base with Big Island honey cream adds a caramel-like finish. 🔥☕
The concept came straight from our longtime friend and food creator Jon Jon (@jonjonulep). He’s famous for his food & beverage photography and occasional
flavor mashups. This collab marks Jon Jon’s first-ever flavor collab, and we’re stoked to be part of it. 🙌
A Birthday Drop You Don’t Want to Miss 🎂
The Japanese Neapolitan will make its debut on Saturday, September 27th at the Kakaʻako Farmers Market and at one select event only. Supplies are extremely limited (limit 2 per person while they last).
And since we’re celebrating our 5th birthday, we’ve got one more sweet surprise: all pops at Kakaʻako Farmers Market will be just $5 that Saturday only! 🥳
This flavor isn’t just about what’s in the pop — it’s about the journey and the people who made it possible. From our friends at FarmLovers Markets, who gave us a home at Kakaʻako, to the creators and foodies who shared their ideas and inspiration (@jonjonulep, @fiveftfoodie, and more), to all of you who’ve supported us from day one: mahalo nui loa.
Pop Culture Artisan Pops has always been about more than dessert. It’s about celebrating local farms, honoring Hawai‘i’s flavors, and sharing aloha one frozen pop at a time. Here’s to the next 5 years — and to many more delicious collabs to come.
✨ Come celebrate with us September 27th. Grab a pop, share some aloha, and let’s make this milestone one to remember.
Mahalo for 5 Amazing Years! 🌺
